At WSCO, we envision a just, united, self-reliant and bold West Side. A community where all people can feel connected, safe, and be healthy and successful. We believe in the creativity and the power of our residents and partners in preserving and transforming the spaces we live in. We believe in a West Side whose people are organized, and ready to actively shape the civic, social and economic vitality of our own community.
In the past 50 years, we’ve accomplished some incredible things together– from saving Humboldt High School and the Riverview Library, to making sure the High Bridge was rebuilt, and Harriet Island was kept public. We’ve shut down toxic polluters, held developers to account, and grown flourishing networks of neighbors; neighbors who’ve fought side by side for housing justice, equitable development, environmental justice, and the rich cultural vitality that makes our neighborhood unique.
