Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods: Tell our reps to Invest in the West Side!
The US Department of Transportation (DOT) is leading a grant effort to distribute billions of dollars in infrastructure projects. These are multi-million dollar proposals for "communities that are seeking funding for projects that address harm from past infrastructure planning decisions, accelerate equitable community revitalization, and improve access to everyday destinations", according to the guidelines.
Here on the West Side, we have the power to advocate for Mayor Carter and US Senator Tina Smith to include West Side projects in proposals the City or State are submitting, and to include West Siders in decision making about funding our future.

Our vision for equitable development on the West Side
We envision a just and joyful neighborhood where new development and wealth creation benefit all West Siders – no matter what we look like or where we come from. In this neighborhood, all West Siders have access to affordable, quality housing; opportunities to build wealth; transportation; and a healthy environment.
