Visions for Our Collective Future, Part 1

visions

[Español abajo]

Save the date for the first in a series of workshops on collective ownership. We'll explore what community ownership means in practice here on the West Side, in a way that’s rooted in our own histories, cultural practices, and lived experiences.

Sunday, October 23rd, 2:30pm-4:30pm, Wellstone Center Room 212.

Here on the West Side, who owns the land? Who benefits from the ownership? Does the money stay in the West Side or is it extracted from the West Side? What would it look like if renters organized to collectively own their building? What housing coop models have worked locally and nationally? What other visions for community ownership can we imagine in our neighborhood?

Featuring special guest speaker Ricardo Levins Morales. Event organized by WSCO's Equitable Development program.
