June 19th is Juneteenth National Independence Day
On June 19th, we honor and remember the day in 1865 when the enslaved people in the western-most part of the confederacy gained their freedom, after the end of the Civil War. Our offices will be closed to mark the Federal Holiday. We invite community members to learn more about Juneteenth, check out a local celebration, and reflect on how this history has shaped who we are today.
