Every day, families in Southport live next to semi-truck traffic & industrial activity — and we’re left asking a simple but urgent question: Is our air safe to breathe?

That question becomes even more critical when paired with another serious concern: there is currently no clear emergency egress plan for residents in this heavily industrialized zone.

This event will bring together community members, advocates, and leaders to unpack the environmental burdens we face — and to stand united for justice, safety, and accountability. Join us as we shine a light on the truth through data, storytelling, and collective power.

NOTE: This meeting will take the place of WSCO’s monthly Land Use Meeting and is open to all 55107 residents. But most importantly, we want to center the voices of those living in Southport, whose daily lives are directly impacted by these issues. This space is for their stories, their experiences, and their leadership.
