West Side Black History Project team meeting

West Side Black History project

Pictured above: Clarence Wigington (1883-1967) became the first Black municipal architect in the United States in 1915, while he lived and worked in Saint Paul. He designed the Harriet Island Pavilion, a landmark in the West Side neighborhood.

Are you interested in helping WSCO plan a mini educational series about Black History on the West Side, created by and for Black West Siders?
