Meet the candidates for our board of directors!

Koveyia McPipe, Jessica Klimisch, and Amanda Otis are running for our board. Join us this Sunday at our 50th Anniversary Celebration to vote for our board!
Want to run? There's still time! Show up to the event and you can run from the floor as a write-in candidate! There are three open seats, and voters can select up to three candidates.

"I believe in community as well making sure everyone is heard. As a youth leader I think it is important that everyone has a seat at the table, and I want to strengthen the bond WSCO has with youth on the West Side. I have been a West Sider since birth, and I am a student and a youth advocate with experience serving on a City board. My goal is to make the West Side a better community for everyone and everything. So much has been happening on the West Side recently and I want to come up with solutions. I am an incredibly creative thinker and aspire to use the world's resources as a means to elevate everyone's life."

"I'm Jessica, a proud resident of the West Side for eight years, where I've found a true sense of community. I'm an active member of the West Side Tenant Union (WSTU). Through my time here, I've connected with small businesses, families, and original West Siders, who've opened their doors to me. Now, I'm committed to giving back to this welcoming community by serving as a board member. I have experience working with small businesses and I am skilled at streamlining procedures, organizing tasks, marketing and design. I believe it's important to not only reflect on your own values, but remember who your community is, and who will be impacted by your decisions. I am dedicated to the West Side and I will always put community first."

"I have had the opportunity to serve on the WSCO Board for the past two years. As a small business owner in the community I wanted to find an effective way to assist in bridging the gap between the systems that run the community and the people in the community. I am very passionate about equality and understanding. I want to use my voice to take action in changes that I know will help our community members thrive. I believe there is a way to come together and work together for a future that continues to improve for everyone’s best interest. I have been in the salon industry for 18 years and a salon owner for the most recent 6 years. I love spending time with my family, my partner and our 3 kids. I know the value of showing up for ourselves and our families before we can be of service to the community."
