Major Zoning Change Proposed for area of West Side Flats
The West Side Flats is an important part of our history as a neighborhood, and we've been building a vision for what the future of that area could look like that serves the needs of our community.
We were just informed that the city's planning commission will be meeting to discuss rezoning an area of the old flats near the river from residential to light industrial.

Here are four ways to get informed and involved:
- October 23rd: WSCO's monthly Land Use Action Circle meeting will include an update on this proposed zoning change. Check out the full agenda and RSVP here.
- October 28th: WSCO will hold a presentation and discussion at our board meeting on Monday, October 28th, 6:30 PM at 209 Page Street. Public Hearing Notice from the Saint Paul department of Planning and Economic Development
from the Saint Paul Planning Commission's Zoning Committee:
This notice is being sent to inform you that a public hearing will be held for an application to rezone a portion of 10 River Park Plaza from T3M traditional neighborhood with master plan to ITM transitional industrial with master plan, and amend the West Side Flats Comprehensive Plan addendum to change the land use from mixed residential to office/light industrial. The Comprehensive Plan element requires this special electronic notice. Attendance at this public hearing is optional."

Next Steps
The Zoning Committee’s recommendation from this public hearing will be forwarded to the Planning Commission on November 15, 2024, who will make a recommendation to the Mayor and City Council.
