Mayor and Council President Support Flats Redress

Channel 5 News spoke with Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter and City Council President Mitra Jalali about what the City owes residents of the West Side Flats who were pushed out to build an industrial park in the 1960s.

“If we know that our city has participated in something that has resulted in economic harm, then it’s our duty, and this is one of the oldest concepts in history, it’s our duty to be a part of kind of redressing that harm," said Mayor Carter.
