Unity Bridge Project Saint Paul
A proposal for a pedestrian bridge downtown Saint Paul, MN!
(updated 2023)
-
How a Pedestrian Bridge helps Harriet Island and Downtown Saint Paul to bring more people (young and old) with easier access to the Harriet Island side (including a playground, boating, and large open beautiful spaces).
-
Connect people to the river in a more consistent way, enhancing the access that people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures can have to the river (symbolically, culturally and economically)
-
A well and intentionally designed pedestrian bridge could be a great draw for people visiting Saint Paul, the West Side and downtown (as well as Xcel, River Center, ETC.
After talking to the Army Corps, US coast guard
and tons of city, county and state representatives,
we know it is legally possible for to build
something like this pedestrian bridge (rendering)
downtown Saint Paul!
