New Incinerator Planned Across the River
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) shared a presentation on the possible health and environmental impacts of adding a fourth sewage incinerator across the river. Learn more about the project here.
Resources shared by neighbors:
- Here is the link to the EAW that was completed at the time when the first three incinerators were installed.
- There is a bill which is a part of the 2022 MN House omnibus environment and natural resources bill which would require an analysis of cumulative pollution and environmental justice areas before issuing a permit. It is a very strong bill and very exciting if it were to be passed. HF 3146 and omnibus HF4492.
- Check out air quality monitors online if we ever wanted to measure our own local air quality.

The Robert St. viaduct, George St. and the Union Pacific bridge will be closed and detoured during construction. Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
